One Family's World War II Correspondence
Robert M. McClung and Gale S. McClung, Editors
![]() | An extraordinary collection of correspondence among the six members of the McClung family of Butler, Pennsylvania, all of whom were remarkably good letter-writers and who had widely-ranging views on life, literature, politics, and the conduct of the war. With all three sons participating in the war (Bud an enlisted man with an anti-aircraft artillery unit in Europe, Bob a Navy pilot and landing signal officer in the Pacific, and Dick an aide to the General Counsel of the Navy in Washington), and both parents and daughter Mary Anne greatly involved in local war-related activities, their vivid and detailed letters make fascinating reading. |
